The Power · Meccan · 5 verses · Revelation order 25
The Surah has been titled after the word al-qadr in the very first verse.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
ٱلرَّحِيمِإِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.
We sent it [Quran] down on the Night of Destiny
Behold, We have revealed it in the Night of Majesty
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
And what will make you comprehend what the Night of Destiny is
Ah, what will enlighten you what it is, the Night of Majesty
لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرࣱ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرࣲ
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months
The Night of Majesty is better than a thousand months. (A day of enlightenment is better than a life-time of ignorance)
تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرࣲ
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
on that night, the angels and the Spirit come down by the permission of their Lord with His decrees for all matters
The Universal forces and the Divine Revelation have descended therein, by their Lord's Leave and shall work in concert with every Decree to carry out His plan
سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
it is all peace till the break of dawn
Peace! It is a Message of Peace, and inevitably shall dawn a new Morning of Enlightenment
